In 1972 the Ellis family were the only family living and farming in Cwm Penamnen, a beautiful valley in Snowdonia near the visage of Dolwyddelan.
A year earlier the Central Electricity Generating Board had announced that their valley was one of three sites being considered for the location of a new hydro electric scheme. Raymond Ellis was over 40 years old and had never lived in a house with mains electricity and now he was threatened with eviction to provide power for others.
Chris Hunt and Rick Megginson photographed the family and farm then interviewed Raymond, and his words describe the impact the proposals had on them and the resulting violence in the divided local community.
